Behind the masks. Beneath the helmets. Big people. Small roles – that’s the tagline for this indie British film that offers behind-the-scenes stories of the iconic Star Wars franchise. An affectionate documentary, it delves into the eccentric community these actors have formed – from a first-trilogy villain, to the actor whose character was completely cut from the final film – and how the franchise continues to impact their lives. Elstree refers to the village in England where the first films were produced. Naturally Disney (the studio behind The Force Awakens) wanted nothing to do with the making of this film. It was financed through a Kickstarter campaign.
